Prison Impact (blog, reading list, book club project)
Yes, please. #prisonreform #knowledge
Prison Impact — a book club that initially began as a self/community education project regarding the prison industrial complex, but now functions as a community building/education project. The club now meets in a prison in Danville, IL so that prisoners are able to participate in the readings/discussions. Their blog catalogues books they have read in the past and books they are planning on reading. If you’re looking to learn more about the US prison industrial complex and its intersections with race, class, & education, their reading list would be a good place to start.

Prison Impact is incredible! The Books 2 Prisoners project I sometimes volunteer at (in Champaign-Urbana) helps to provide some of the textbooks. Now I need to go ILL some of these…
