Kicked it with the director & producer of this movie yesterday after attending Frameline35’s hosted conversation with them (sponsored in part by BUTCH Voices: Register today!). Dee is good people and after hearing so much about the film (both the short and feature) but never having seen it, chillin & talking to Dee was a reminder that getting out there and supporting art that reflects us is the only way our truths will be heard. Please Please PLEASE don’t pirate this movie y’all. It’s about to be released in theaters NATIONWIDE because of her hard work and persistence in telling this *exact* story. If we want to be seen in media and have our lives, stories, and struggles taken seriously, we need to support the art that’s out there. Pariah will be released some time this Fall/Winter so keep an eye out for it and take yo momma, sister, boothang, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandma to see it. It’s a film that, regardless of gender, sexuality, race or class, has connected with audiences so support good filmmaking and more history in the making.

Be Heard!
